LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS IN OIL
ABOUT
KIM MATTHEWS WHEATON was born in 1950, in New York City. When she was young her family moved to San Francisco, where she grew up. She began painting at boarding school in Connecticut, and received her BFA degree at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1997 she and her family moved to Eastern Washington, where they lived for 20 years. It was there that she found the landscape that spoke to her above all others. She now lives on the west side of the mountains, but still in Washington and close to her landscape, the dry expanses of the High Desert of Eastern Washington.
